The story is inherently fascinating, and the Turtle rules (breakout entry, ATR-based stops, pyramiding into winners) remain relevant. However, Covel's writing is repetitive and self-promotional, frequently plugging his other books and consulting services. The actual Turtle rules take up about 20 pages — the rest is biographical padding. The rules themselves are freely available online in the original Turtle Traders document. Worth reading for the narrative, but don't pay for "the secret rules" — they've been public for decades.
