The Federal Reserve's FRED database is an extraordinary free resource for economic data, and the accompanying educational materials explain how to interpret key indicators: GDP, CPI, unemployment, yield curves, money supply, and more. For macro-oriented traders and investors, understanding these data series is essential. The education is excellent for what it covers — interpreting economic data — but it deliberately avoids anything related to trading or investing with that data. You'll understand what the yield curve inversion means economically but not how to position your portfolio. Best used alongside macro trading resources that bridge the gap between data and action.
