MIT's open finance courses provide institutional-grade education in financial theory: efficient markets, portfolio theory, CAPM, options pricing, and corporate finance. The lecture notes and problem sets are the same materials used by MIT students. The quality is exceptional for anyone who can handle the mathematical rigour. The limitation is obvious — this is academic finance theory, not practical trading. You'll understand the Black-Scholes model but not how to trade options profitably. The pacing assumes university-level math. Valuable for building theoretical foundations, particularly for aspiring quantitative traders, but expect to supplement heavily with practical resources.
