Schwager interviews traders who aren't famous but have extraordinary track records. The most relatable book in the Wizards series — these are retail traders, small fund managers, and independent operators rather than institutional legends. Particularly strong interviews with traders who built systematic edges from scratch. Some interviews are weaker than the originals, and a few subjects have limited track records that make it harder to separate skill from luck. But the accessibility factor — "this could be me" — makes it uniquely motivating. Worth reading after the original Market Wizards.

The first book in the series, Market Wizards, remains the benchmark. The New Market Wizards bridges the gap between the two. For more real-trader stories, see our Biographies & Memoirs category.
